Midway between Keswick and Cockermouth near the Lake District village of Bassenthwaite, High Close holiday park is ideally situated for touring the Lakes and West Cumbria coastline.

There are rambles and walks from the park or drive a short distance to the beautiful towns, valleys and lakes of Borrowdale, Derwentwater, Crummock water, St.Johns in the Vale, Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere and more.

Nearby facilities include horse riding, fishing, leisure facilities, golf clubs, sailing, windsurfing, mountain biking and there is the excellent Sun Inn which serves delicious meals within a mile of the park.

For the serious walker, pack your rucksack and head up Skiddaw for some amazing views of the Northern Lake District. Alternatively there are walks up Binsey, High & Low Pike or head towards Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket. The Helvellyn range, Blencathra and Scafell are within a short drive.
